We the People of the
United States have two national flags, a military flag and a civil
flag for peacetime
The Bonnie Blue Flag was raised over the Mississippi
capitol building at the signing of the Ordinance of Secession in 1861, and
various States adopted Lone Star variations in their State flags
The California Bear Flag was first raised in Sonoma, California in 1846 by
rebellious white settlers, who declared independence for California, in what
came to be known as the Bear Flag revolt.
The 14th Amendment ended
the institutionalizing of racism in the United States, but a post-Civil War
obstructionist Supreme Court negated most of it's authority.
Resulting was "Separate but Equal", a new law "legislated" by the Court contrary
to the will of the people, and it would last for100 years, until ended by the
Earl Warren Court.
Decided by the United States Supreme Court in 1908, Ex
Parte Young negated the 11th Amendment to the Constitution, allowing citizens of
other states to sue a state in federal court without first exhausting the
resources of the offending state.
